HOPA, the Housing for Older Persons Act, provides the Fair Housing Act exemption that legally allows a property to restrict tenancy by age. 55+ housing requires 80% of units occupied by at least one person 55 or older, plus published policies and verification procedures. We help owners stay compliant.
Can I market a single-family rental as "55+" or "senior-preferred"?
